  • Overview

    The Regional Director oversees StoryPoint and Independence Village Executive Director’s for a specific region. A successful Regional Director will maintain an atmosphere of collaboration, participation, retention and teamwork within the assigned region.  Oversees policies, objectives, and initiatives for region. Responsible for evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures and determining and implementing changes as necessary.  Familiar with a variety of the company’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

     

    Required Experience for a Regional Executive Director:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Care, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Gerontology or equivalent experience
    • Demonstrate passion for leading and developing people as well as being committed to excellent service delivery to residents
    • Exceptional hospitality skills with knowledge of and special sensitivity to the needs of aging adults and their families
    • Ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a variety of publics, including employees, residents, families, ownership groups, community groups, government agencies, etc.
    • A broad understanding of federal and state laws related to the operation of a Senior Assisted Living Community
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects as well as strong follow through skills as well as be detail oriented
    • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required as this position has direct contact with numerous departments
    • Ability to make decisions independently without direction

    Primary Responsibilities of a Regional Executive Director:

    • Actively support our culture – our pillars, 1440 and a culture of feedback
    • Actively supports our company’s culture of safety as the Executive Director leads safety at the community level
    • Promotes staff to exhibit 1440 behaviors by leading by example
    • Establish, builds and maintains positive relationships with all function regionals
    • Interview, hire, train, and direct Executive Directors of communities
    • Conduct site visits in order to ensure programs are functioning and meeting operational standards as well as provide immediate hands on feedback and action to meet standards
    • Promote our company’s philosophy to community leaders
    • Supports the sales process by monitoring region’s move out activity
    • Provide reporting to Function Leader on a regular basis
    • Responsible for collaboration with various departments to ensure resident and family needs are met accordingly
    • Partners with Functional Leaders on reporting requirements
    • Ensures on-going compliance with all regulatory requirements
    • Actively seeks feedback from other regional and function leaders
    • Ensure adequate preparation for regulatory compliance survey
    • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned or necessary
    • Regular travel with some overnight travel
    • Conducts monthly performance feedback for region’s Executive Directors
