Position Summary:

As a Dining Room Manager, you will supervise and organize activities of the dining room personnel to provide fast and courteous service to our residents and their guests. Required Experience for Dining Room Manager:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Prior dining room management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in scheduling staff members.


Primary Responsibilities for Dining Room Manager:

  • Consistently inform management, serving staff and residents of any updates daily to ensure that issues are handled properly and in a timely manner. Assign work tasks and monitor the activities of the dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service. Ensure that proper food safety and sanitation policies are followed.
  • Train and supervise dining room employees. Ensure proper dining etiquette; prompt and courteous service and attention to detail during all meal times.
  • Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners; greet residents and guests; Ensure all resident or guest concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Inspect the dining rooms and service stations for neatness and cleanliness, ensure clean pressed table linen and other dining room supplies for tables and service stations.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of dining room employees and to resolve any kind of conflicts with employees set schedule.
  • The ability to resolve challenges that arise with staff, residents, and guests.
  • Help to organize and work monthly brunches.
  • Learn how to complete the daily culinary billing. Ensure that residents are charged the correct amount each day.
  • Responsible for interviewing service staff and the hiring process.
  • Help to complete monthly performance reviews with all service staff.
  • Set the example and lead with a positive attitude that supports a team environment. Ensures positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Additional duties as assigned or needed.
  • Supports the Mission, Values, and Vision of Senior Village Management; work toward continual improvement of the overall organization as a Dining Room Lead.


General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.  This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.  The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.  Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
